SPECIAL NEW MOVIE EDITION Day 12: Frozen

Let it Go! Let you go enjoy Frozen in theaters!

1. What movie did you watch?
Frozen
Here's a taste of the movie:

2. Have you seen it before/ how long has it been since you last saw it?
Maddie: I saw it for the first time today (I was a little slow)!
Alexis: I saw it on opening day with my little cousins and then I saw it again today with Maddie!

3. What memories did it recall?
Maddie: It felt like a really nice homage to classic Disney movies, and yet there were some more modern twists that I loved. This classic moment really reminded me of other great Disney transformations:
**SPOILER ALERT**In addition it had a nice feminist twist in that the girls save themselves at the end, and while there is a definite reliance on men, the women don't need the men to save the day in the end.***END OF SPOILER***

Alexis: Can you have memories of a movie you just saw? Well, I guess I can say it reminded me of my sister and I, the movie has a very strong emphasis on the sister bond!

4. What did you think of it?
Maddie: I LOVED IT!!! The music is so enjoyable and has such depth and the movie is absolutely stunning!
Both Elsa and Anna are delightfully flawed and real in their sensibilities. Finally, a Disney princess who is flawed and gets help from her SISTER instead of A MAN to help herself. And another princess who is incredibly awkward and sometimes insecure, but learns how to deal with it and stick up for herself.  Going into the movie, a lot of critics said that it was the best thing they had seen from Disney since Lion King and Little Mermaid. While I think that there have been movies that were great since those two (ahem, Hercules and Mulan), this movie felt like it deserved to be in the same ranks as those.

Alexis: Yes I loved it!  It was such a visually pleasing movie, seriously all the snow scenes are beautiful!  And I honestly enjoyed all of the characters. They were all likeable and so very believable. And the songs and talent of the cast is just phenomenal.

5. Favorite moment:
Maddie: My favorite moment was Elsa's transformation during "Let It Go" (see below). Not only is that song absolutely amazing, but I love Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa and sings it in the movie. I mean, look at her:

Alexis: That was my favorite moment too, Maddie you took the words right out of my mouth! Here's the scene we're talking about if you're interested.

And I also couldn't help myself from relating to Elsa a little bit, in the sense that I care so much for my younger sister and would never want anything bad to happen to her.

6. Any other comments:
Maddie: I just loved it, I would say it is definitely a MUST SEE!
Alexis: Yes, I definitely highly recommend it!  Also, one of the shockers: I thought I'd be annoyed by the talking snowman Olaf, but I literally laughed out loud at most of the things he said.
